OBD: Opposed Blade Damper

The Opposed Blade Damper (OBD) is an adjustable, openable airflow regulator designed specifically for regulating airflow at vents or diffusers. The blades move in opposite directions simultaneously for precise metering and control while minimizing interference with airflow patterns. It is available in black or dark gray as a base color and is custom-sized to fit the actual nozzle neck and is mounted with rivets or screws.

Common Misconceptions (VCD VS OBD)

    The airflow through the OBD is constant. Since the purpose of the OBD is roughly the same as that of the air volume regulating valve (VCD) used in ductwork, some industry professionals also refer to it as VCD.

    However, for convenience and to avoid confusion, it is called OBD. Customers can turn the controller with a screwdriver to control the movable slide plate on the OBD, thereby adjusting the opening angle of the blades and keeping the position fixed within the adjustable range to achieve the purpose of airflow regulation.
