OBD-A: Opposed Blade Damper (Aluminum)

The Opposed Blade Damper (OBD) is an adjustable, openable airflow control valve designed specifically for regulating airflow at vents or diffusers. The OBD blade is secured within a 50mm deep frame using punched holes, spring wire, and a striking star washer for stability. The fully adjustable blade is 45 degrees closed and 180 degrees open. Airflow can be adjusted via the grille using a flathead screwdriver; turn the round screw controller clockwise to open the damper and counter-clockwise to close it.

Common Misconceptions (VCD VS OBD)

The airflow through the OBD is constant. Since the purpose of the OBD is roughly the same as that of the air volume control valve (VCD) used in ductwork, some industry professionals also refer to it as VCD.

However, for convenience and to avoid confusion, it is called OBD. Customers can turn the controller with a screwdriver to control the movable slide plate on the OBD, thereby adjusting the opening angle of the blades and keeping the position fixed within the adjustable range to achieve the purpose of airflow regulation.
